Projects and activities
The user group hold and support the following activities:
- Edit-a-thons to help new Wikipedians learn editing techniques, to enrich content about Egypt or work on and develop a certain topic.
- Meetings for the Wikimedians in Egypt to exchange ideas and to check what support do they need to continue editing Wikipedia.
- Editing contests to encourage existing users edit Wikipedia and to encourage non-users join.
- Photography trips and contests to encourage users upload photos to commons.
WikiArabia Egypt 2017
Wikimedia Egypt UG has organised WikiArabia 2017, the third annual meeting of participants from the Arab region, in Golden Tulip Flamenco Hotel, Cairo, Egypt, from October 23-25, 2017 to expose, discuss and share their experiences, ideas and perspectives on Wikimedia projects in the Arab countries.

Wikipedia Egyptian Program (WEP) in Egyptian Universities has enriched Arabic Wikipedia with Featured & good articles.
